Dealmaker Catalyst announces new chairman

ADVISORY firm Catalyst Corporate Finance has announced Tim Trotter as its new chairman.

He will replace Brian McGowan who is retiring.

Trotter is an entrepreneur with more than 30 years’ experience in the media and business services sectors. He currently has a wide variety of international interests which include public and private companies.

He is non-executive chairman of Glenfern, Alpha, Seven Publishing, Smithfield Group and The SR Group. He was formerly a senior adviser to Evercore Partners and is a co-founder of Citywire and Luther Pendragon.

Prior to this, Trotter was founder, chairman and chief executive of Ludgate Group, the international public and investor relations consultancy.

He later initiated and implemented the sale of Ludgate to Interpublic.

Andy Currie, managing partner at Birmingham-based Catalyst, said: “His experience and breadth of knowledge will be highly complementary to the mix of skills we have in our senior team.

“This will be a major asset as we continue to deliver for clients and build our business across the UK and internationally.”

Trotter said: “I am pleased to be joining Catalyst as the business looks forward to further growth after a very successful 2014.

“I am impressed with the team’s forward thinking approach, energy and professionalism with both advisory mandates and the development of their own business.”
