Birmingham Airport backs Business Masters Awards

BIRMINGHAM Airport is the latest sponsor of TheBusinessDesk.com’s West Midlands Business Masters Awards 2015.

It is sponsoring the Large Exporter category in the awards and follows Black Country law firm Higgs & Sons and Birmingham-based accountants MHA Bloomer Heaven who are sponsoring the Newcomer Award and SME Manufacturer Award respectively.

Jo Lloyd, commercial director at Birmingham Airport, said: “After the success of last year’s event, we are delighted to be once again sponsoring the Large Exporter category for the TheBusinessDesk’s West Midlands Business Masters awards.

“It’s a great way to recognise business excellence and acknowledge all the great things that our region is achieving.

“Birmingham Airport plays a big part in helping business prosper by creating global connectivity and trading opportunities so we are proud to be part of this awards scheme to witness and celebrate this success.”

The awards, which will be held at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham on the evening of Thursday June 11, will build on the success of last year’s event and once again the winners will be announced at a high-end black-tie dinner.

There are 11 awards again this year, including popular categories covering manufacturing and exporting – both split into two to cater for larger businesses and SMEs – and innovation.

There are also awards for successful performance by listed companies and for businesses running apprenticeship schemes.

The Pride category, which rewards efforts in the CSR field, is always popular as is the Ambassador category which rewards a person who has made an outstanding contribution to the business sector and regional economy over the last year.

All Masters entries – and you can nominate your own business or someone else’s – will go in front of our panel of judges and the shortlists, from which the winning entries will be announced on the night, will be made public soon after.

Andy Coyne, editor of TheBusinessDesk.com in the West Midlands, said: “I’m delighted that Birmingham Airport has joined Higgs & Sons and MHA Bloomer Heaven as a sponsor of our Masters Awards.

“Attracting such prestigious names shows the respect in which our awards are held.

“The Masters are starting to gather momentum and I would urge companies to get their entry forms in before it is too late.”
