Santander appoints new regional director for West Midlands

SANTANDER Corporate & Commercial is targeting growth within the West Midlands’ SME sector with a new appointment.

The bank has named Susan Davies as its new Regional Director, South & West Midlands. Based at the bank’s corporate office in Wolverhampton, Ms Davies will lead a team of 20 relationship directors and product specialists focused on clients across Staffordshire, Shropshire, the Black Country, Worcestershire and Herefordshire.

Santander Corporate & Commercial has seen its lending grow by 40% over the past two years in the South & West Midlands region, and is forecasting growth of 20% in 2015.

The bank now has Corporate Banking Centres in Wolverhampton, Stoke, Shrewsbury and Worcester, providing comprehensive support for its increasing number of clients.

Ms Davies will focus on growth by increasing Santander’s Corporate & Commercial client base and positioning the bank as the lender of choice for the region’s diverse and expanding businesses.

Her previous role at Santander was Deputy Regional Director for the West Midlands region, while prior to joining Santander in 2010, she worked at Lloyds Banking Group. She will report to Tim Pezzack, Divisional Managing Director, Midlands & Wales, Santander Corporate & Commercial.

She said: “Santander is committed to helping businesses in the South and West Midlands prosper. My aspiration is to engage with the region’s SMEs and explain how Santander is changing the way British businesses can bank. As a scale challenger, we are bringing much-needed competition to the market.”
