Law firm secures Carillion legal panel position

THE real estate team at Birmingham law firm Irwin Mitchell has secured a place on construction and support services giant Carillion’s legal network.

Its specialist lawyers will provide support on the Wolverhampton-based  company’s major property and development work.

Set to be part of the panel until 2017, Irwin Mitchell sealed its position working with Carillion with a bid led by its national head of real estate Paul Firth.

He was supported in the bid by specialist construction lawyer Julie Morrissy, as well as real estate specialists Andrew Wallis and Kevin Fox and planning expert Emily Williams.

Firth said: “Carillion is a giant in the construction services industry and we hope our work to assist them in developing and undertaking major projects across the UK will prove to be the start of a long-standing relationship.”

Richard Tapp, company secretary and director of legal services, at Carillion, said: “Irwin Mitchell is the only new firm to join the Network following our review, which demonstrates the strength of their proposal.”
