Cutting edge investment from Morgan

MORGAN Advanced Materials has responded to increased customer demand with a further major investment in state-of-the-art production equipment at its Composites & Defence Systems business in Coventry.

A six-figure sum has been invested in a new high-specification water jet cutting machine which is further optimising cutting quality and consistency while also improving throughput.

The Coventry facility is established as a global centre of excellence for composite materials and has specific expertise in the production of armour systems to protect both individuals and vehicles.

Duncan Eldridge, president of Morgan Advanced Materials – Composites & Defence Systems, said: “Much of our cutting was previously undertaken manually but business growth and increased demand have driven the latest investment to automate and so speed up processing.

“The new equipment is guaranteeing cutting consistency and quality across a broad range of applications, enabling us to maintain the reputation for quality we have developed over many decades.”

RNF Digital secures £250,000 of funding

LEAMINGTON Spa-based mobile app developer  RNF Digital Innovation has secured £250,000 of funding from Innovate UK to build upon its  iBeacon management platform.

This is the second raft of funding secured by RNF to work on iBeacon projects, having secured funding last year as part of £702,000 project which has allowed it to develop indoor navigation systems for Bestway Cash and Carry.

The BEAM platform, an iBeacon management system enables businesses to manage the ‘user experience’ as customers interact with sensory devices such as iBeacons through an online dashboard.

It means businesses or specific brands can send individually tailored content to customers – taking into account individual spending habits and preferences – informing them of special offers, promotions, information about the site as they browse around a store, building or location.
