Stone Manor Hotel owners invest £100K in improving facilities

THE new owners of a Worcestershire hotel have invested £100,000 in helping to improve facilities.
Hogarths acquired the four star Stone Manor Hotel, near Kidderminster, earlier this year in an undisclosed deal, pledging to upgrade facilities.
The new investment has seen the creation of a new outdoor space in what was the hotel’s former swimming pool.
The pool has been empty for the last two years and Hogarths decided it would be better to re-use the space rather than have it remain a pool.
The pool has been filled in and the new area has been named The Pump Rooms, since it is on the site of the former changing rooms and pump rooms for the swimming pool.
The hotel invited 35 guests from the local weddings, Christmas parties, corporate bedrooms and conferences sectors to attend the launch of the new outdoor space.
Robert Elliot, sales manager at Hogarths Stone Manor Hotel & Restaurant and Hogarths Hotel & Restaurant in Solihull, said The Pump Rooms had transformed a previously un-used area of space.
“The swimming pool had not been used and it was filled with rain water and leaves,” he said.
“When we took over the hotel in February, joint-owners Helena and Andy Hogarth and group general manager Steven Quick decided there was a big opportunity to make it a much more useful space.
“It has been transformed into an outdoor area for weddings, team-building activities, pre-dinner reception drinks and corporate BBQs so it has multiple uses.”
He said the response so far had been very positive.
“We held our first wedding there at the end of August and we already have 40 bookings for weddings at Stone Manor next year with ten of those using the outdoor space,” he added.
The hotel has also seen major growth in companies booking team-building activities and bookings for leisure guests.
“We are planning to make more outdoor leisure activities available to our guests so they can enjoy the outdoor space Hogarths Stone Manor is so lucky to have,” added Elliott.
