Shropshire leisure park to carry on camping under new ownership

CARAVAN park Cartref Caravan and Camping has been acquired by a new management team after a funding support package was agreed with Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

Cartref Leisure – owned by directors Christopher Towers, Gordon and Sue Jones and managed by company secretary Katrina Williams and Towers – has acquired the Shropshire leisure facility in a six figure deal.

Situated in Ford Heath, five miles from Shrewsbury, Cartref Caravan and Camping has a mixture of 46 grass and hardstanding pitches all with electric hook up.

There is also a separate field with children’s play area and dog walk. The site also features a toilet block with showers, privacy washbasins and hairdryer, a separate disabled wet room with ramp access and a laundry room.

Towers said:  “We are really pleased that our acquisition of Cartref Caravan and Camping has been successful. It is a lovely leisure site, a true hidden gem and we intend to continue to maintain and build upon the excellent standards achieved by its previous owners.

“Plans are also in place to make some improvements to the site over the coming months, one of which is to upgrade the pitches so that all are fully serviced for water, electric and grey waste.”

Annie Hague-Ling, relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland said: “Cartref Caravan and Camping is a successful local business and I am pleased that we have been able to support Chris and Gordon with its acquisition.”
