Why your 20s are the best time to start your own business

Young entrepreneurs used to be a rare thing, but now it is a growing trend among 20 somethings, but why?

Thank god (or Tim Berners Lee) for the internet
Thanks to the internet and the power of social media, it is easier than ever nowadays to set up your own business. Not only can you take online courses in programming, website and app development, but you can also tell people about your company in whatever shape and form you’d like across platforms that weren’t even around 10-15 years ago. Technology has also disrupted so many sectors so those who are digital natives are best planned to spot opportunities to think differently.

Snooze you lose
Millennials are an eager bunch and they don’t half love a challenge. Nowadays, it’s exciting to throw yourself into the unknown and take risks, and of course that appeals to young people so much more than guaranteed security. In your 20s, you’re mature enough to know that opportunities don’t sit on the table for ages, you have to chase the dream.

You’re the boss – and it’s amazing
Yes, finally after years of being told what to do from a toddler to your first steps on the career ladder, you can make the rules and no one is going to get in your way of success. You’re young and still don’t have that many responsibilities, so it’s the ideal time to crack on with your business and unleash your creativity and imagination that you’ve kept bottled up for so long.

Work hard, play hard
All-nighters might now be caused by presentations rather than parties, but you have the energy and resilience to work very long hours because you believe in your idea. It’s an investment in your future, so sleepless nights and lost weekends are a down payment on your entrepreneurial lifestyle.
