Black Country software firm plans to double turnover with appointment of new MD

A BLACK Country IT firm that supplies software packages to many leading automotive manufacturers has underlined its growth strategy with the appointment of a new managing director.

Nigel Potter has taken over the reins at Chrysalis Solmotive to steer the expansion of the amnition business.

Based in Stourbridge, the company’s customer retention software is also supplied to finance companies and car dealerships.

Mr Potter, formerly MD of IT consultancy firm i4 Associates, is targeting plans to double turnover in the next 12 months, enhance product development and implement the first stages of a global expansion.
 
With more than 30 years’ combined experience across the automotive and IT sectors, Mr Potter has a track record for delivering business growth. In previous roles he has been the driving force behind dramatic increases in turnover, taking one software business from £3m turnover to £12m in just three years, and building businesses up to multi-million pound values.

His appointment follows a successful start to the year for Chrysalis, which saw a £700,000 investment from venture capital provider Finance Birmingham and plans to create more than 30 jobs this year.

Currently employing 20 staff, the business has more than 10 years’ experience in developing leading customer retention software for its clients and serves more than two thirds of the top 200 car retailers in the UK.
