Nuneaton barber comes out on top over cut-throat competition

THE best wet shave in Britain is to be found in Nuneaton, according to industry experts and the British Barbers’ Association.
Sadik Khalifa, the owner of Style Hair Arts, left no hair out of place as he won the Britain’s Best Wet Shaving Barber 2016 award at the national final at Birmingham’s NEC.
The competition, run by the British Barbers’ Association and The Bluebeards Revenge, took place in a boxing ring. Mr Khalifa beat seven other regional winners, impressing industry renowned judges Gary Machin, Alan Jones and Gareth Clark.
He said he was “absolutely blown away” by his triumph that included beating the 2015 champion Luigi Caterino in the quarter-finals.
Mr Khalifa has barbering in the family, going back to his great-grandfather who was a barber.
He said: “I’ve personally been learning the art since the age of ten, and specialise in Indian therapies like the Indian head massage, as well as cut-throat wet shaving.”
Mike Taylor, director at the British Barbers’ Association, added: “The event has not only been a celebration of the most creative and innovative of British wet shave barbering, but also a showcase of the growing global reach and talent of the UK cut-throat shaving industry.”
