Intrinsic isn’t playing games with its latest investment

INTRINSIC EQUITY has invested in games company Storm Gaming to help the business deliver their ambitious strategic plan.
Telford-based Storm Gaming is an independent manufacturer of digital games that are played in the real world, such as in pubs and arcades.
James Grenfell, principal at Intrinsic Equity and a senior partner at Orbis Partners, will join the Storm board after the company made its investment. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Intrinsic Equity joins the ownership group made up of Storm founder Richard Sheldon, industry veteran Steve Murray and Sportingbet founder Mark Blandford’s Rockridge Investments.
Mr Grenfell said: “We have invested in Storm at an exciting time and look forward to helping Richard and Steve accelerate their plans as a global provider of multi-platform compelling games content.”
Richard Sheldon, chief executive of Storm, added: “Through their long-standing relationship with Steve and their recent work with CORE Gaming and Sky, James Grenfell and his team, saw an opportunity both to invest and to support the business with their financial and sector knowledge.”
Storm Gaming supplies fully compliant gaming platforms to operators in the UK, Spain, Holland, Belgium and Croatia, with around 5,000 digital products installed.
