French bistrot to open second restaurant in region

AFTER taking Birmingham by storm in July, French restaurant Bistrot Pierre is set to open another site in the UK’s second city.
The independent French restaurant group – which have signed a 25-year lease at Mulberry Walk retail and leisure development in Mere Green, Sutton Coldfield – will be opening their 18th site in February 2017. Co-owner of Bistrot Pierre Rob Beacham said: “The positive feedback we’ve received from people in and around Birmingham after opening our bistrot in the city in July, so it’s fitting to extend our reach further to the suburbs – and Mere Green is the ideal location.
“The centre has already attracted some of the nation’s most well-known retail and food and drink brands, so we’re thrilled to be part of such an exciting development that will boost the town’s economy and create a wealth of new jobs for the area.”
The restaurant – which will have its own outdoor seating area – will be joining Prezzo and Café Nero who have already signed up to be part of Mulberry Walk alongside Boots and Marks & Spencer.
Steaks-frites, boeuf bourguignon and crème brûlée are just a few of the favourites set to be on the menu at the popular bistrot.
Development director at Salmon Properties Rorie Henderson said: “We commenced construction of this project in January 2016 and remain on schedule to complete the development in October when our tenants will gain access to fit out.”
The opening comes as part of the group’s rapidly growing portfolio which already has restaurants in Birmingham, Bath, Cardiff, Derby, Harrogate, Ilkley, Leicester, Leamington Spa, Newport, Nottingham, Sheffield, Stockton Heath, Stratford, Plymouth and Torquay.
