Appointments: LCP; JS Wright; Harris Lamb

BLACK Country based London & Cambridge Properties has appointed a new asset manager to boost its retail team.
 
Steve Pell has returned to the Midlands after a year working in London as associate director at Colliers International’s West London office. He has 17 years’ experience in the commercial property sector, having worked for a number of agencies, including Harris Lamb.
 
He will be working predominantly with LCP’s retail asset management team, covering the Midlands and the North West.
 
Jo Salmon, LCP’s retail portfolio manager, said: “As we continue our ambitious investment and acquisition programme across our industrial and retail portfolios, we were looking for someone with solid knowledge who could hit the ground running. Steve has an impressive record and we are confident that his experience will be a real benefit to the team.”
 
It is not the firm’s only appointment, as it has also recruited Neil Harrison as a new legal counsel.

Neil Harrison, legal counsel, London & Cambridge PropertiesMr Harrison (left), from Worcester, joins fellow amateur racing driver Richard Honick in LCP’s legal department, and will be based at the company’s head office on the Pensnett Estate, Kingswinford.

He will work closely with the main legal team at the company’s Millbank Tower offices in London, and will support LCP’s asset managers, providing legal and strategic advice on their property schemes, and liaise with external lawyers.
 
Mr Harrison moves to LCP from the Oxford office of Knight’s Professional Services, where he worked in the real estate asset management team. He has 10 years’ experience as a solicitor, having worked as legal counsel for Birmingham-based retailer Farmfoods and as trainee solicitor and associate solicitor at MFG Solicitors in Worcester.
 
Nick Burgess, managing director of LCP, said: “We expanded our in-house legal services department into our West Midlands office last year, and we’re very pleased to welcome Neil and believe his legal and real estate expertise will be an asset for the company.”

Chris Barnes, Health & Safety Advisor, JS WrightBIRMINGHAM building services provider J S Wright has continued to invest in its nationwide operations with the appointment of a new Health & Safety Advisor.

Chris Barnes (left) will work across the hotel, residential, social housing, student accommodation, leisure and commercial sectors.

He will serve the Aston, Bristol and London offices of the 126-year-old company, that provides full mechanical and electrical (M&E) building engineering services.  

Mr Barnes, who was born and raised in Australia, will be based at J S Wright’s London office.

Toby Guise, Associate Director for Health, Safety & Quality, said: “Chris will bring advice and support to all our employees and ensure that as we grow as a company we also remain compliant at all times.”

Abigail Taylor, lease advisory surveyor, Harris LambHARRIS LAMB has appointed a lease advisory surveyor to its expanding team. Abigail Taylor (left) specialises in lease advisory and valuation, and has a background of working in both the private and public sector.  She will be based at the firm’s Birmingham office.
 
Richard Fantham, director of Harris Lamb, said: “The business has gone through a significant period of growth this year, having pledged at the beginning of 2016 to grow both organically and through acquisition, and our client portfolio has increased accordingly.
 
“Abi is the latest specialist we’ve brought in to help us continue to service our expanding client-base, joining us from BNP Paribas Real Estate, where she focused on lease advisory.”
