Construction firm signs 10-year lease on office space

CONSTRUCTION company Bouygues UK has signed a 10-year lease on 17,300 sq ft of office space in Birmingham city centre.
Landlord Threadneedle Pensions had refurbished the space earlier this year and Bouygues UK has now taken two floors at Albert House, Quay Place, close to Brindleyplace.
Quay Place has 100,000 sq ft of space across six office buildings, and is currently 75% let.
Theo Holmes, associate director in CBRE’s Birmingham office agency team, which advised Threadneedle on the deal, said: “Bouygues UK’s decision to move to Quay Place demonstrates that companies are continuing to migrate into the city centre where they can benefit from good transport links and easily accessible local amenities, albeit the availability of new a good quality refurbished stock remains an issue in the short-term.”
In Birmingham, Bouygues UK was responsible for the construction of the £7.5m Centrum digital office block at the Innovation Birmingham Campus, part of Birmingham Science Park Aston, and is currently building the city’s first purpose-built private rented sector (PRS) scheme for Linkcity, called The Beacon, on Pershore Street.
Craig Tatton, Bouygues UK managing director for the North and Midlands, added: “Bouygues UK has an ever growing presence in Birmingham. Greater Birmingham and Greater Manchester are key regions for us going forward. Albert House will provide us with state-of-the-art office accommodation with great transport links for our staff, clients and partners.”
