Nationwide contract worth £350m won by Carillion

WOLVERHAMPTON-BASED Carillion has agreed a £350m deal with Nationwide Building Society to provide facilities management services at its sites across the country.
The construction and support services group, which has worked with Nationwide for the past nine years, has secured a contract for the next seven years, with the potential for a three-year extension.
It will deliver its services at Nationwide’s Swindon head office, its 15 corporate offices, critical data centres and 700 retail branches throughout the UK.
The deal comes just weeks after Carillion secured a five-year, £90m deal with Centrica to deliver facilities management and project services.
Carillion’s group chief executive, Richard Howson, said: “This demonstrates the success of our long-term partnership with Nationwide and our focus on differentiating Carillion by working collaboratively with customers to deliver an outstanding customer experience, using our expertise in whole-life property management and services.”
It is a significant deal for the FTSE 250 company, which increased its revenues in the first half of the current year by 10% to £2.5bn.
Carillion said it believed its customer experience, backed by its Customer Experience Centre, and its track record of raising service standards were key to it winning the Nationwide contract.
