Go ahead for Birmingham’s most expensive-ever house

PLANS for what could be Birmingham’s most expensive-ever residential property have been given the green light by the city council.

Developer Woodbourne Group has secured permission to begin work on 46 Westfield Road, Edgbaston, as part of a £4m redevelopment.

Situated within 0.75 acres of land, the seven-bedroom property will boast ten bathrooms including seven en-suites, a drawing room, reception room, family room, dining room, kitchen diner, dedicated laundry room, utility rooms, cloak store, an entrance hall and a tandem garage.

But that’s not all, owners will also benefit from a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, gym, cinema, squash court, table tennis and snooker room and a luxury garden building.

Due to complete in early 2018, 46 Westfield Road will be built to exacting standards and putting it into Lottery winner and Premier League footballer territory, is likely to command an asking price of almost £4.1m – beating the record set in 2011 for the most expensive property ever sold in Birmingham (4 Woodbourne Road) by half a million pounds.

The city council’s consent for the property marks the first stage in a £31.7m pipeline for Woodbourne Group since the re-launch of its development arm earlier this year.

The company’s new expansion plan is being spearheaded by 24-year-old entrepreneur, Tani Dulay, who said: “We’re very excited to get this project in motion.

“46 Westfield Road, whilst a significant project in its own right, is just a small step in the right direction for the company. Experience across the board culminated with our start up mentality positions us well to deliver in a post-Brexit landscape. The UK still has the foundations for a boom in housebuilding and we remain committed to meeting these needs.”
