Church wins funding support for elderly projects

ELIM Life Church in Kingstanding has been awarded £2,000 after winning LoveBrum’s monthly members’ vote to receive funding support.
Each month, LoveBrum selects three good causes around one theme and asks its members to vote for one of the organisations.
December’s theme was the elderly and Elim Life Church was chosen ahead of Home from Hospital and The Stonehouse Gang.
The Church has been working in North Birmingham for a number of decades but more recently became a charity.
It recognised how elderly people in its community became lonely and isolated and has developed projects including a weekly meal for over-55s, supported by a minibus service, a craft group called Needles and Pins, as well as trips and activities.
Elim Life Church plans to use the funding to support those projects, and to start a support group for the elderly on a monthly basis to signpost and support local senior citizens.
