CWA feasts on completion of restaurant scheme

Birmingham civil engineering consultancy CWA has completed the civil and structural engineering work on the new Carluccio’s Italian restaurant in Solihull.

The Newhall Street consultancy secured the contract to work on the new Mell Square restaurant, which is situated on the ground floor of a new four-storey building on the corner of High Street and Drury Lane.

There are three floors of Grade A office space above the restaurant as part of a redevelopment by Mell Square owner IM Properties.

CWA director Steve Wedge said: “This is a prominent corner plot which links Mell Square to the High Street and will be a key gateway to the whole improvement scheme. Carluccio’s have been looking to open a restaurant in Solihull for some years, so we are pleased to have worked on this development for them.”

The new 94-cover restaurant is due to open later this month and includes an outdoor terrace seating 42.
