Media Buzz: Rewired, Freestyle, McCann Erikson

BIRMINGHAM-based Rewired PR has expanded its team with the appointment of Rebecca Hart as senior account manager.  Ms Hart previously worked at agencies Mirror and M Consulting covering the consumer, B2B, financial and professional services sectors.  Rewired MD Ruth Ward, said: “Rebecca’s appointment supports the continued growth of the agency by strengthening our senior management team and bringing in additional expertise across sectors. Awards for Freestyle

Midlands agency Freestyle Interactive has picked up two industry awards. Client Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance took Silver at this year’s Digital Impact Awards in the category ‘Social Media: Best Use of Community Development’. The awards recognise excellence in digital stakeholder communications and are the UK’s only dedicated celebration of digital design, strategy and communication. Alan Cooper, Freestyle’s founding director said: “Recognition at this level with this line-up of judges is something we are extremely proud of.  We continue to work on a range of exciting and innovative digital projects with Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance – so watch this space.” Freestyle Interactive also retained its number one position as the Midlands’s largest digital agency in the 2010 New Media Age Top 100 Interactive agency annual ranking.  Freestyle is ranked 29th in the UK in the Design & Build agency category and 75th overall.

 

McCann chalks up more accounts and hires

THE PR division of marcomms agency McCann Erickson Central has landed several new accounts. The Solihull-based company will be representing Reed Recruitment, Swedish car firm Saab and fitness supplement brand USN among others. McCann, which has been nominated for various prizes at the PR industry’s annual PRide Awards in December, has also recently boosted its team. Kathy Doyle has joined the company from Midlands’ agency Gough Allen Stanley and Felicity Cross from Seal Communications. In addition, four account executives have been recruited to work across the agency’s mix of b2b and consumer clients.
Managing director Christine Arthur said: “We are committed to growing the team from within, taking juniors on and training them up to support our internal promotions. “This has been a great year for us and we’re delighted that we continue to attract the talent.”
