Media Buzz: Cognition, McCann Erickson Central

COGNITION, the Leamington Spa-based communications agency, has recruited seven new staff  to work across the company’s PR, marketing and digital departments.

Adam Segura joins Cognition’s new business department as commercial director. As a client director at several other agencies, past accounts have included Aston Martin, Citroën, Barnardos and Greenpeace.

Jo Dain joins as strategic PR manager from Watermark Public Relations. With 12 years’ experience at agencies across the UK, she has worked with BP, The Royal British Legion and Willmott Dixon Construction.

Caroline Murphy joins as strategic digital manager, and Jennifer Durrant joins the marketing department after seven years working in the NHS, where she oversaw marketing for a national funding scheme. 

Managing director Tim Witcherley said: “We’re incredibly selective about who we hire, and that’s clearly reflected in the quality of people we’ve taken on board”

Other hires include Rachel Munson as account executive in the marketing team, Jacques Ward as developer in the digital team and Hannah Mackenzie as a new PR executive.

THE PR division of marcomms agency McCann Erickson Central has landed several new accounts. The Solihull-based company will be representing Reed Recruitment, Swedish car firm Saab and fitness supplement brand USN among others.

McCann, which has been nominated for various prizes at the PR industry’s annual Pride Awards in December, has also recently boosted its team.Kathy Doyle has joined the company from Midlands’ agency Gough Allen Stanley and Felicity Cross from Seal Communications. In addition, four account executives have been recruited to work across the agency’s mix of b2b and consumer clients.
