McCann Erickson named region’s top PR firm

MCCANN Erickson’s Solihull-based operation has been crowned the region’s top PR performers.

In the annual Midlands PRide Awards, run by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, the firm was named outstanding consultancy of the year.

The company also scooped the corporate responsibility and corporate and business communications awards.

Other winners at the event, which was held at a Las Vegas-themed ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, included Birmingham-based Seal for best campaign under £10,000 and Staffordshire County Council for the top in-house PR team.

Managing director at McCann Erickson Christine Arthur said: “We are thrilled to be recognised both for the work we do for our clients and for being one of the UK’s leading consultancies.

“It’s been a challenging few years for everyone here in the Midlands communications industry, and it’s been no different for us at McCann, but this recognition is testament to just how hard we’ve worked.”

Managing director at Seal Nigel Pipkin added: “To win every award we entered really reflects the outstanding quality of work from our fantastic team here at Seal.

“In these recessionary times, it was especially good to win gold for our Michelin campaign, demonstrating we are top of the tree for offering value for money without compromising results.”

The Midlands event attracted more than 1,200 entries this year.
