Sweet deal for recruitment firm
A GROWING Yorkshire recruitment firm has been given a boost after securing an exclusive five-year contract with a bakery.
The partnership means gap yorkshire will be Doncaster-based Sargents Bakeries’ sole supplier of temporary workers until 2016.
It is the longest sole-supply contract in the history of gap personnel, a nationwide recruitment company of which gap yorkshire is part.
The firm has been working with the bakery since 2009.
Since its launch in 2009, gap yorkshire has undergone rapid expansion and now has branch offices in Sheffield, Leeds and Castleford, with operational sites in Pontefract, York and Cleckheaton.
Turnover more than doubled last year, while the company’s permanent workforce has quadrupled in size to 25.

Matthew Hull, gap yorkshire director, said: “This is a fantastic result for us, as contracts of this length and type are extremely rare in the marketplace.

“Sargents Bakeries is a growing company with a proud tradition of manufacturing high-quality products and we will be continually evolving our service to meet their needs over the next five years.”
