Indian restaurant chain’s recipe for success

JINNAH, the Indian restaurant chain, has re-opened its Harrogate restaurant following a £250,000 refurbishment.
The make over follows hot on the heels of the group's £1.5m acquisition of the Beechwood Close Hotel in York and brings its investment in premises to £2m for December alone.
The re-modelling of the Harrogate site includes oak flooring, subtle LED lighting and improved acoustics as part of a brief to give the restaurant a contemporary feel while retaining an authentic Asian atmosphere.
Saleem Akhtar, Jinnah's owner, said he was delighted with the result.
"We have always known we have a gem of a building in Harrogate, but this rebuild will take the venue to a new level," he added/
Founded in 1981, the family run chain has continued to be run by Bradford-based Akhtar brothers who now boast seven restaurants, three takeaways and the Bradford cash and carry in the Yorkshire region.
Earlier this year the £8.5m turnover firm invested more than £500,000 in a new venue in Ecclesfield near Sheffield. Its latest addition in York will receive a half a million pound facelift in the new year.
"We are committed to further growth in Yorkshire, are planning at least two more acquisitions, and have potential for further revenue growth from our existing sites," said Saleem Akhtar.
