Ice work for Litestructures

YORKSHIRE-BASED Litestructures has completed work on one of its most complex and challenging design and build projects for the skating extravaganza, Holiday On Ice.
The company, which is based in South Kirkby near Pontefract and one of Europe's leading manufacturers of aluminium structures for the entertainment industry, has provided the sets for the internationally famous ice show.
Holiday On Ice, which is owned and managed by Dutch firm, Stage Entertainment, began its European tour in Hamburg last month.
Litestructures, which was founded by former teacher Adrian Brooks, created the structures for the set in just 11 weeks from original designs by the show's set designer Bart Clement.
The final structure is made up of three sections, the dominant feature being a huge central spiral, measuring 25m across, 4.5m deep and more than 150m inlength.
Last year LiteStructures opened a rehearsal studio at its main base on an industrial estate in South Kirkby where some of the world's biggest rock and pop stars including Robbie Williams, Kanye West, Coldplay and Franz Ferdinand have rehearsed for their touring concerts and shows.
