Business Week returns to Sheffield for fifth year

SHEFFIELD Business Week is set to return for its fifth year with a busy schedule of events planned for the city region.
Business Week 2009, which is organised by Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by support services company Amey, features five free days of seminars and events for company owners, managers and employees starting October 5.
The schedule will be divided into five essential subjects each day and held at different venues throughout the city kicking off with ‘Business Support’ at Nabarro LLP and The Circle.
This will be followed by ‘Enterprise’ at Sheffield University Business Centre, ‘Healthy Workforce’ at Sheffield Cathedral and ‘Export’ at DLA Piper and Aston Hall Hotel.
The week will be brought to a close with a ‘Sustainable Sheffield’ themed day hosted by The Quadrant on October 9.
A regular and relevant theme for the week will also be boosting business during the economic downturn with sessions including ‘It’s Better to Thrive than to just Survive’ with Success Management and Huthwaites leading on ‘Selling out of the Recession and Through the Recovery.’
South Yorkshire International Trade Centre (SYITC) and Sheffield Enterprise Agency will also be involved in the week’s timetable.
Both Sheffield Chamber members and non-members are welcome to attend Business Week.
Other workshops and opportunities will cover key business issues such as employment law, supply chain failure and risk management, procurement, transport, stress and wellbeing.
Chamber events manager Angela Fairfax said: “This is the fifth annual Business Week and we’re thrilled to be working with a real variety of sponsors and organisations on such a wide spectrum of subjects.
