Housebuilder snaps up 19 acres of development land

A deal to sell 19.4 acres of land in West Yorkshire for a multi-million pound housing scheme has been agreed.
Acting on behalf of Wakefield Metropolitan District Council, CBRE’s Leeds Residential team has sold the land at Milton Road, Snapethorpe to Keepmoat Homes.
Keepmoat Homes’ six year programme is expected to start in 2018 and will deliver around 260 two, three and four bedroom homes.
Dan Crew, land and partnerships director, Keepmoat Homes (Yorkshire West), said: “We are delighted CBRE, together with the council has put their trust in Keepmoat Homes to deliver this major mixed tenure scheme. Collectively, our partnership responded to housing needs in Wakefield and looked at how we could support this – from first time buyers, right through to families looking to upsize – as well as the much-needed provision of more affordable homes.
“Once again, we will provide a development tightly tailored to the needs of respective residents; holding various consultation and feedback events, coupled with the provision of training and employment opportunities for local people and the sourcing of local labour. It is this people-focused approach that will bring us closer to combating skills shortages, maximizing build-out rates and relieving the housing crisis.”
