Where do you live/where are you from?

Huddersfield born and bred.

What is your favourite place to visit in Yorkshire and why?

The Yorkshire Dales, I love the relaxed environment and the countryside. I’ve always preferred the country to the city.

What is still on your ‘to do’ list in the region?

I’d really like to take my family to visit the Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

What is the most memorable meal you’ve ever had in Yorkshire?

The Black Swan in York, which was a weekend treat with my partner. The food and accommodation were outstanding.

Also, The Sandpiper in Leyburn. I go with the family often as it has great food and is really friendly, even when you have small children.

What is your most Yorkshire trait?

Love a brew of Yorkshire tea.

Favourite piece of trivia about the region

Jodie Whittaker, our first female Dr Who, is from Skelmanthorpe in Huddersfield.

What is your favourite cultural icon to come out of Yorkshire?

Emley Moor Mast as we supplied the product for the first concrete installation in 1971.

Worst experience or thing about Yorkshire?

I think there is a perception that Yorkshire people are tight and uneducated because we are based in the North of the country. Yorkshire people are some of the friendliest and kindest people I’ve ever come across. We’ve also produced lots of fantastic talent from the region.

What is one thing you’d steal from Lancashire (or other UK regions) if you could?

The sunny and warmer weather from the South.

What is the most overrated thing about Yorkshire?

I can’t think of anything that is overrated.
