Children’s furniture seller expands its HQ and team

Room to Grow, an online-based children’s furniture expert, has seen sales and orders soar over the last 12 months and has now moved its base to larger premises, allowing for continued growth and expansion.

The business, which began as a single store in Ilkley, and is now entirely online, will operate its head office from a site in Shipley that will allow it to add to its team even further.

Room to Grow has increased from just one person to a team of 10 and will now be located in Merchants Quay, Shipley.

The move allows RTG to develop the customer service team, in-house specific marketing activities and expand its buying team dealing with factories, globally.

Anne Davies, owner and MD, said: “Like so many other businesses we had no idea how we would fare throughout the pandemic.

“We’ve been very fortunate and seen sales and orders soar as parents used lockdown as an opportunity to revamp their children’s rooms.

“Thanks to the hard work of my team we’ve seen growth across the board that’s allowed us to expand into new markets and increase product ranges which means we need more room ourselves.

“The new space offers us the chance to bring more people and more products into the Room to Grow business and at the same time ensure the hardworking team have a great base to work from.”

In addition to the office move, Room to Grow is also announcing the hire of Gareth Cliff as its new customer operations manager. Cliff comes from Leeds and has three of his own children.

He held previous roles at William Hill, Sky Betting & Gaming, Arcadia and Boohoo; all in customer service roles.

Cliff will be working with Davies and the team on customer operational processes, identifying areas for innovation in existing procedures and maintaining the businesses excellent reputation with customers.

He said: “I’m very fortunate to be joining Room to Grow at such an exciting time.

“The business has gone from strength-to-strength and is seeing a huge growth in its customer base so it’s important that we keep customer satisfaction and the personal relationship we offer, at the forefront of everything we do.

“The team has been incredibly welcoming and I’m excited to see what the future holds, what new technology we can introduce and how we can ensure we are surpassing our customers’ needs.”

Davies added: “I am so pleased to welcome Gareth to the team. His experience and ideas really complement where the business is going and where we want to be in the coming years.”
