Law firm Ware & Kay incorporating Pearsons & Ward Solicitors has appointed Laura Kingsberry as conveyancing executive to its expanding Residential Property Team in Wetherby.

She brings a wealth of experience in residential property law, having dedicated over eight years to the field. 

Her expertise encompasses all facets of residential property transactions, assisting clients in the purchase and sale of both freehold and leasehold properties for registered and unregistered land.

Kingsberry is well versed in buying and selling at auction, managing buy-to-let investments, executing transfers of equity, overseeing mortgage transactions, and ensuring proper property registrations.

Originally from Pontefract, she began her career at a law firm in Castleford and has completed the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CiLex) level 3 course. 

She is currently undertaking the Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) course, further broadening her knowledge and expertise in property law.

She said: “Buying or selling a property, whether a home or an investment, can be a stressful time and my aim is to help ease the burden by securing the best possible outcomes.

PR and content marketing agency, Open Communications, based at Tileyard North in Wakefield, has appointed Laura Wood as PR account executive.

Having graduated with a first-class BA (Hons) degree in English Language from Edge Hill University, she approached Open Comms for a short-term placement before being offered the full-time position.

Responsibilities of the new role will include liaising with clients, drafting press releases, writing blogs, producing engaging assets, managing social media accounts and providing monthly reports and analytics.

Pudsey-based B2B vehicle and plant hire business, Nexus, has appointed Gerry McCaig as chief operating officer and Stuart Miles as chief revenue officer.

McCaig and Miles will be working alongside the rest of the board to further develop the proposition, products and drive the next level of growth in the business.

McCaig will lead the way in delivering scalable growth and developments into new markets, alongside current product and service enhancement.

He previously held head of operations and chief operating officer roles at British Gas Energy and JLA respectively.

Miles will embed innovative customer central solutions, whilst seeking new initiatives to help drive sustainable top line growth. He also previously spent two decades in commercial lead roles within the vehicle and rental sector.

Both McCaig and Miles will also be looking to shape the company’s brand awareness, growth, and overall proposition.

Law firm Gordons has appointed an employment lawyer and a hired a newly qualified solicitor for its property disputes practice.

Jessica Smith joins the employment and HR team while Arran Crump has become part of Gordons’ property disputes practice after qualifying as a solicitor this September following his two year-training contract with the firm.
