Judges back the Yorkshire Business Masters

THE high profile judging panel for TheBusinessDesk.com’s Yorkshire Business Masters have described the inaugural awards as a “fantastic opportunity for business” and are inviting nominations as the deadline approaches.

Companies have until Friday to enter the awards, which aim to be more relevant to Yorkshire business than any other event in the established calendar by bringing together key players to facilitate business on the day.

The high profile judging panel is made up of senior figures including Paul Fullerton, agent of the Bank of England for Yorkshire; Stephen Martin, chief executive of Clugston Group; Helen West, chief executive of Business Link; James Newman, the Master Cutler; Ajaz Ahmed, founder of Freeserve and Andrew Palmer, regional director of the CBI.

The Yorkshire Business Masters have already attracted the support of key firms from across the region, with law firms Gordons and Walker Morris, and accountancy firm KPMG, signing up as main sponsors.

All five categories are open to individuals or businesses based in the Yorkshire region.

The categories are:

Yorkshire Grit: Overcoming adversity and making a real difference

Yorkshire Pride: Most meaningful philanthropic initiative by a business, organisation or leader

Yorkshire Innovator: Most creative or original business thinking

Yorkshire Ambassador: Greatest contribution to business in Yorkshire

Tickets for the Yorkshire Business Masters, which will be held at Aspire in Leeds on June 17 from noon to 3.30pm, are available for £250 per pair plus VAT.

The event will start with a champagne reception, followed by a three course lunch with fine wine.

The deadline for entries is April 30, 2010.
