Pinsent Masons names new office head

CHRIS Booth is to replace Mark Owen as the head of the Leeds office at law firm Pinsent Masons.
Mr Booth (pictured below) joined the firm in 1987, becoming a partner in 1998 and national head of its employment team in 2005.
His appointment comes as Pinsent Masons prepares to merge with McGrigors after partners at both firms backed the idea last month.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Booth said: “Having been based in the region for 25 years, I am delighted to take up this role at such an exciting time for the firm.
“Whilst the firm continues to enhance its offering and geographical reach, as evidenced by our merger with McGrigors on May 1, the opportunities within the region remain an important focus.”
It was announced last week that Mr Owen, a property specialist, was to join Dickinson Dees.
Dickinson Dees is moving its York office to Leeds this month as it looks to make headway in the busy Lees legal marketplace.
Mr Booth will take up his post on May 1.
