Tuesday: Financial appointments

A round-up of the region’s top appointments within the financial sector.
LEEDS Building Society has appointed Paul Kaye as general manager of its sales division.
In his new role Mr Kaye will have responsibility for the Society’s 68 strong national branch network as well as the UK Based Direct Mortgage Unit.
Mr Kaye has previously worked for Barclays Bank and Greene King. He has also held directorships at HBOS and E-Loan.
He said “I hope to bring fresh insights to continue to develop and deliver very competitive mortgage, savings and financial products through our national branch network.”

THE Leeds office of Grant Thornton has announced the appointment of Sarah Coventry as a senior manager in its Business Risk Services (BRS) practice.
Ms Coventry is a chartered accountant who has returned to professional practice from her most recent role at Arla Foods UK, where she was head of Internal Audit.
She said: “I am really excited about being back in professional practice, with the opportunity to work with a variety of complex and challenging organisations. I’m looking forward to using the skills and experience I’ve developed whilst working in industry to benefit my clients.”
Ms Coventry will be responsible for the provision of co-sourced and outsourced internal audit services to large organisations in the private sector.

THE Royal Bank of Scotland (“RBS”) has strengthened its structured debt solutions team in North Yorkshire with the appointment of Garry Duffy.
Mr Duffy joins as an associate director of Structured Debt Solutions (SDS).
He will provide a focused approach to highly leveraged transactions in commercial banking covering cover debt between £1m and £10m in Leeds and its surrounding area.
He will also work alongside his colleagues in RBS Invoice Finance, RBS International Banking Services and asset finance provider Lombard.
