Marco Pierre White backs Scunthorpe soups

CELEBRITY chef Marco Pierre White has leant his name to a new range of soups created by Scunthorpe food manufacturer TSC Foods.
Glorious! soups, developed in partnership with Conival, are the creative efforts of TSC’s award-winning chef Simon Gamble and include mouthwatering recipes such as vine ripened tomato and Balsamic, courgette and orzo pasta broth, roast squash and pecorino risotto, Indonesian noodle, and bean shoot and red pepper soup.
The range will be available in different pack sizes and serving options to suit all outlets. The 600g pot is currently being sold exclusively in chiller cabinets through Morrison’s supermarkets initially but will be rolled out to other food retailers later in the year.
Waitrose has recently confirmed that Glorious! soups will be listed in its stores from September and other multiple retailer listings are expected to follow.
Conival said that it had selected TSC Foods to produce the range because of the company’s unique cooking processes, which enables the firm to follow each stage in a recipe in the same way that a top chef would in a restaurant to ensure consistent depth of flavour.
Only the best ingredients are used, which are sourced where possible from local growers and suppliers.
Mandy Taylor, commercial director for TSC Foods, said:
“We’re delighted to be producing Glorious! soups with Marco Pierre White’s seal of approval.
“At TSC, we pride ourselves on creating delicious food that uses traditional cooking methods to get the maximum flavour from every ingredient.”
Mr White said: “I have tasted Glorious! soups throughout the development process and advised purely on taste. These soups actually taste home-made and are good enough for me and my family to eat, therefore, good enough for me to put my name to.”
New soups are expected to be added to the Glorious! range next year base on seasonal recipes and world flavours.
TSC Foods is the third largest employer in Lincolnshire, employing nearly 300 staff at its factory and headquarters in Scunthorpe.
