Appointments: CPP; IoD; Lupton Fawcett Lee & Priestley; Kempner & Partners

CARD and phone protection provider CPP, has announced the appointment of Brent Escott as interim deputy CEO. 

The appointment marks a further step in the group’s restructuring plans and Mr Escott will start his role today.

CEO, Paul Stobart, said: “Brent’s appointment strongly supports our priority to reposition the business for the next phase of its development. His expertise, together with his wealth of experience in insurance and operations, will be instrumental as we complete the work at hand to ensure CPP is set on a firm footing for the future.”
 
CPP is currently repositioning its business model and looking to reduce costs.

THE chairman of mechanical and electrical contractor, NG Bailey, has been appointed deputy chairman of the Institute of Directors (IoD).

A former senior partner at Eversheds, Nimble Thompson has a long-standing connection with the IoD, having previously served as regional chairman for Yorkshire and the Humber. He has been a member of the IoD’s Board since April 2008 and will take over from Philippa Foster-Back who leaves the IoD following three terms of office.

Ian Dormer, chairman of the IoD, said: “We are delighted that Nimble has accepted the role. He brings a significant wealth and breadth of experience both within the business world and within the IoD.”

This summer, Mr Thompson will step down as chairman of NG Bailey after 12 years in the role.


SIMON Lockley, a dispute resolution partner from HLW Keebles, is to join the team at Lupton Fawcett Lee & Priestley.

He will head the firm’s Sheffield office’s dispute resolution department.

Managing director, Richard Marshall, said: “I am absolutely delighted that Simon has decided to join our firm where he will spearhead and fully develop our dispute resolution offering in Sheffield and South Yorkshire.”

Martin DelafailleINTELLECTUAL property legal specialists Kempner & Partners has appointed a new partner after four years of rapid growth.

Martin Delafaille took up his new role at the Leeds-based law firm last month.

Mr Delafaille, who joined Kempner & Partners in August 2010, said: “Kempner & Partners is an exciting place to work where everyone has a passion for intellectual property – that’s why I’m delighted to be made a partner here.”
