A FORMER chief fire officer has joined the board of change management and leadership consultancy SFL.
Phil Toase CBE has joined the team after retiring from his role as chief fire officer of West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service earlier this month.
He has also served on the Fire Service College board and advised the Government on senior appointments within the fire service as president of the Chief Fire Officers Association.
Established in 2003, Cheshire-based SFL is a change management, leadership and development company.

Mr Toase said: “I met with SFL during my time as chief fire officer and was surprised and impressed with what the company wanted to deliver to the fire and rescue service. I am really delighted to be joining the board and helping shape SFL’s service delivery in the public sector.”
SFL CEO and founder John Fay MBE said: “Phil will help SFL build on its emergency services and Ministry of Defence practice and will also guide the company on other public sector issues such as social housing and local government.”
