Deloitte announces record number of senior promotions

BUSINESS advisory firm Deloitte has announced five new partner and five new director promotions in Yorkshire.

Richard Davis, Kate Hayes, Anthony Matthews, Jamie Young and Ian White become partners and Anil Gupta, Angela Barnicle, Matthew Bainbridge, Tom Simpson, Simon Davidson have been promoted to directors.

Nationally the firm has announced the promotion of 65 new partners and 135 directors; the largest number of promotions in a year at Deloitte in the past ten years.

Martin Jenkins, practice senior partner, said: “These promotions reflect the exceptional quality of our people and our confidence in the regional market and the opportunity for growth that it offers. The first six months of this year have seen a sharp improvement in business confidence. The message I am hearing from chief executives at clients large and small, is that Yorkshire businesses are ready to invest in growth opportunities to take advantage of an improving economy. These promotions build on our sustained investment in talent over recent years as well as reflecting our investment in the potential of a growing economy and our commitment to support our clients.

He added: “As a firm investing in skills and talent remains a key priority for Deloitte. This year, the firm will invest around £30m on our people’s learning and education covering a combination of professional qualifications, and training courses – that’s an average of over £2,000 per person – equipping them to make a material difference to our clients’ ability to succeed and grow.”
