Greyhound stadium on track with £100,000 investment

SHEFFIELD greyhound stadium Owlerton has finished a £100,000 investment in improving the site.
THe recent investment in the site’s infrastructure follows a £500,000 investment in 2013 aimed at “boosting the venues’ spectator experience.”
John Gilburn, managing director at Owlerton Greyhound Stadium, said: “Providing a good quality visitor experience is at the heart of everything we do here at Owlerton and making sure every aspect of the track is at its very best is a vital part of this.
“The lights are also much more economical and, as they use less than half of the electricity than previously, they are more environmentally friendly which is also a really important consideration for us.
“We are delighted they are now in place allowing all our customers to enjoy our greyhound racing, stock cars and speedway events in brighter surroundings.”
Owlerton Stadium welcomes more than 200,000 visitors every year and around nine million people have visited the Hillsborough venue since its opening in 1929.
It hosts 250 greyhound races every year.
