Appointments: The W Group; Surgical Innovations; Physio Med

BUSINESS development firm The W Group has appointed non-executive board director Liam Smith.
W Connect, which offers telemarketing, social and digital marketing, and data delivery to clients across the UK, was established in 2015 – forming part of the W Investment Group.
Mr Smith joins the management team, consisting of chief executive Marc Wildes, managing director Martin Harkness and head of client services Nathan Millward.
Mr Wildes said: “Liam will join the rest of the W Connect management team which, combined, have more than 60-years establishing, overseeing and managing a range of businesses and teams.
“Liam brings with him a particularly strong understanding of both the challenges in acquiring customers, as well as the importance of retention through the delivery of excellent service.
“We are delighted to be welcoming him to the team, and I am certain we will benefit considerably from his experience, as well as his broader perspective on both our business and the wider market – especially whilst the business in its infancy.”

EXECUTIVE chairman Nigel Rogers is replacing Doug Liversidge CBE, at the head of Surgical Innovations.
Mr Liversidge was previously the firm’s non-executive chairman, has stood down from that position but remains on the board as a non-executive director.
Mr Rogers qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1983 spending eight years with PwC before moving into industry.
He managed the flotation of Stadium Group as group finance director, before becoming group chief executive officer in 2001.
He joined 600 Group plc as group chief executive officer in 2012 and led the turnaround of the AIM-quoted global machine tool business Colchester-Harrison.
Nigel has been non-executive deputy chairman of Transense Technologies plc, the AIM-quoted sensor systems provider, since July 2015.
Doug Liversidge commented: “The role of chairman of SI has become more demanding in time over recent months and I welcome wholeheartedly the introduction of Nigel to the Board as Executive Chairman. I have no doubt that he will drive the Company forward drawing on his extensive experience.”

PHYSIOTHERAPY provider Physio Med, based in Leeds, has hired Chrysty Roberts to its team.
Ms Roberts has been a fitness professional for nearly 10 years, during which she ran her own social enterprise company and taught fitness, yoga, pilates, and martial arts.
She spent three years in the NHS and three months at the private Yorkshire Clinic, before offering private physiotherapy, physio-yoga and massage across Leeds after graduating.
Ms Roberts said: “The best part of being a physiotherapist is getting to witness the success of each patient. I do love helping clients during their rehabilitation, but a lot of my work is also helping to keep somebody mobile and independent and maintain overall wellbeing. Working with Physio Med will allow me to help a larger number of people, and I’m looking forward to the exciting challenges ahead.”
