£10.5m contract for engineering firm

SES Engineering Services has secured a £10.5m mechanical and engineering (M&E) contract on the University of Leeds’ Engineering Building.
Appointed by main contractor Galliford Try, SES will deliver full M&E services as part of the refurbishment and remodelling of the building, due for completion in autumn 2017.
The building was originally constructed in the early 1960s and its revitalisation is part of the university’s £520m campus development programme over the next five years.
Mark Perkins, managing directorm of SES, said: “SES has a long and proud Yorkshire heritage so it is with huge pride that we have been appointed to work on this iconic building which will house and train the next generation of Yorkshire engineers.
“Due to the fact that this is an existing building, it is of course a complex, multiple-phase project requiring high levels of technical ingenuity. Working on a live university campus environment, with staff and students going about their day-to-day activities, requires careful management.”
