New event aims to empower women and raise money for charity

AN event aimed at empowering women and enabling them to meet the challenges of the economic downturn head on is to be held in Harrogate.

The Woman to Woman event is on May 8 at the Sun Pavilions starting 9.30am to 4.30pm and is in support of Saint Michael’s Hospice.

It will feature fun events including a ‘Loose Men’ panel for women to quiz the male mindset, self-belief challenges such as arrow breaking and a grand finale to test the power of focus.

According to joint organiser Jane Keogh – business coach, mentor and director of Oracle Women – the day is designed to encourage women to take a good look at themselves and learn more about the person reflected in the mirror.

“It’s about the business of women, learning to say no, learning to be true to themselves, learning about clarity of thought and vision, dispelling the Superwoman myth, helping women to identify what they need from today’s challenging lifestyles and more,” she added.

Nola Lucas, founder of social and business networking group for women Crème de la Crème, said that the current economic downturn meant that women faced even more challenges than before.

“The event will help women be more creative and enterprising, overcome limiting beliefs and attitudes, which can have a huge impact on everyday lives, by choosing the right tools and self fulfilling attitudes to help them overcome any hurdles faced,” she said.

Women interested in attending the inspirational day can book tickets priced £55, which includes lunch and refreshments by telephoning 01423 506773.
