The Fuel Card Company in Dieseline deal

YORKSHIRE-BASED The Fuelcard Company UK has acquired TOTAL BUTLER’s Dieseline fuel card business in a deal which will increase the company’s client base by another 2,000 customers, to more than 16,000.

The Fuelcard Company, based in Knaresborough, is one of the largest commercial fuel card resellers in the UK with partnerships with Shell, Esso, Texaco and Keyfuels.

It is a UK division of FleetCor; the worldwide fleet card group. The purchase is one of several acquisitions for FleetCor Europe over the last 12 months.

TOTAL BUTLER is a fuel supply business that is part of the world’s fourth largest oil company TOTAL.

Dieseline fuel card customers use the Keyfuels diesel bunkering network, the largest bunkering network of its kind in the UK, with more than 1,600 filling stations.

Keyfuels is also owned by FleetCor and will see Dieseline customers now getting access to The Fuelcard Company services including dedicated account management, online access to manage their fuel card accounts and access reports and a choice of 12 different fuel card brands, consolidated into one account.

“We are thrilled to make this announcement as it shows that even in a time of economic recession FleetCor is still committed to investing in its ever growing UK business, ensuring that The Fuelcard Company continues to enjoy its status as the largest commercial fuel card reseller in the UK ” said Andrew Blazye, chief executive of FleetCor Europe.

“As FleetCor builds its European footprint we are constantly on the lookout for companies who can expand our business and customer offerings.”

“Dieseline fuel cards is an excellent fit for The Fuelcard Company,” said Paul Draycott, who has recently joined The Fuelcard Company as managing director.  “I have joined The Fuelcard Company at an exciting time.  Amid the current climate, companies are looking at how to manage their fleets effectively and we can help them achieve this.

“Part of our role will be to offer these newly acquired customers a proactive customer service strategy to ensure we deliver the best solution for their fleet,” he added.
