Thebigword lands white goods big deal

THEBIGWORDGROUP has won a multi-million euro deal to manage the technical translation for global household appliance company Electrolux.
The contract, which is worth £1.3m to the Leeds-based firm, will involve the translation of instruction manuals into 35 languages for appliances produced by Electrolux Europe.
Karin Nielsen, german practice manager for thebigword and leader of the tendering team, said: “Electrolux executives were impressed with the quality and cost-effectiveness of our work but they also appreciated the skills of our team, which weren’t just sales-driven, but involved technical and operational expertise.”
Thebigword’s translation technology platform LanguageDirector will form part of the contract offering.
By linking with Electrolux’s content management system (CMS), it will automate much of the translation workflow saving management time for Electrolux and improving time-to-market.
Ms Nielsen continued: “We’re delighted to win such an important contract with one of the world’s best-known companies.
“When it comes to instruction manuals, accuracy is paramount, and Electrolux appreciate our attention to detail and the high-calibre of our people supported by the best technology.”
