US takeover for POSTcti

US Web and video conferencing provider West Corporation has bought Harrogate-based POSTcti.
POSTcti is a provider of “unified communications” systems for companies that want to bring together telephone and instant messaging services with technologies such as email and voicemail.
It has been bought by Intercall, a West Corporation subsidiary, one of the largest global providers of web and video conferencing services.
Neil May, managing director of POSTcti, said: “This acquisition represents an extremely compelling proposition to the market; bringing together the deep technical knowledge of on-premise, cloud-based and fully-hosted unified communications services from POSTcti, combined with InterCall’s industry-leading collaboration services suite, global infrastructure and client base.
“The combined result is a service provider of global scale with unparalleled experience and capability to provide clients with unlimited options for designing, deploying and executing on world class business process and communication integration strategies.”
Tom Priestley, managing director at InterCall Europe, said: The deep and rich experience in both the telephony and IT markets sets POSTcti apart from its competitors
“With the addition of POSTcti’s product and service offerings, we now have the global resources and expertise to complement our best-in-class communications network and operations infrastructure to assist our clients with their unified communications needs around the world.”
West Corporation was advised by a team from Addleshaw Goddard led by Manchester-based partner Roger Hart with managing associate Richard Robinson and associate Catherine Shennan, assisted by tax partner Justine Delroy and associate Sam Dooley.
Mr Hart said: “”This deal represents an important strategic acquisition for West and we were delighted to work with their UK and UK operations to help structure and deliver the transaction.”
A team from Davidson Large led by corporate partner Neil Large, provided legal advice to POSTcti and its shareholders.
He said: “This was a particularly challenging and complex transaction due to its structure and the fact that we were dealing with a US buyer.
“It was a privilege to work with the POSTcti stakeholders on such a high profile and significant corporate deal and I wish them continued success with the development and growth of POSTcti with the backing of support of InterCall.”
Haines Watts provided tax and accounting advice to POSTcti’s management team.
Peter Bancroft, managing partner at Haines Watts in Leeds, said: “It is very satisfying to have been able to bring this transaction to a successful conclusion.”
