Henry Boot in £28m Priory Park expansion plan

HENRY Boot has set out plans to build the final phase of the Priory Park business park in Hull at a cost of £28m.

The firm is looking to develop the final 15 acres of the site to create 19,500 sq metres of space to house hi tech industries in a further positive move for the Hull economy.

Ben Ward, senior development surveyor at Henry Boot Developments, said: “We completed our last phase of space in 2007, that was Bridge View, a series of smaller office units and they have all sold and we achieved good values which is encouraging given the state of the market.

“The overall market is slow but we are looking to stimulate demand with the next phase of development.”

Mr Ward said the firm was hoping to secure detailed planning consent from Hull City Council shortly and had also applied for European Regional Development Fund money to support part of the scheme.

The first part of the final phase will see the creation of offices and industrial units designed for the digital and creative industries as well as professional services firms.

If the ERDF funding is approved it will help support the development of 4860 sq metres of business space which the developer forecasts will help create and safeguard 200 jobs.
