Tributes paid after death of Clive Gott

MOTIVATIONAL speaker Clive Gott has died aged 52.

Mr Gott died at his Tadcaster home on Saturday evening. It is thought he died from a blood clot or heart attack.

Writing on his blog, partner Elaine Hanzak said she was “heartbroken” adding: “I am honoured to have shared what he and many others tell me were his happiest and most fulfilled years.”

Ms Hanzak urged those who knew Mr Gott to celebrate his life rather than mourn and to send cards expressing thanks rather than condolensces.

Mr Gott drew on his personal experiences for his speaking including his transformation from overweight firefighter to triathlon competitor and his participation in gruelling challenges such as the Marathon Des Sables, which he completed in 2006.

Tributes have been left on a Facebook page set up following his death which will also carry details of arrangements for a celebration of his life.
