Business advice boosts Biskit’s ambitions

A DESIGN and marketing agency, which sought advice from Business Link as a fledgling firm is promoting the benefits of the service.

Otley-based Biskit was founded six years ago and now boasts a range of clients including Northern Ballet and the Yorkshire Agricultural Society.

The agency currently employs six people and works with UK clients across many markets including travel, education, mail order, government, medical and industrial.

Mr Ryder said that accessing advice from Business Link in the early days of the business helped avoid costly mistakes and enabled it to deal with the challenges faced by a growing business.

“Our Business Link adviser has been an excellent source of knowledge and a valued sounding board including providing us with strategic advice and support, which has had a direct impact on our turnover.”

The firm, which currently has a £600,000 turnover, has ambitious plans to become a £2m turnover enterprise in the next two years – and it will continue to seek Business Link’s advice in doing so.

“I have taken steps to ensure that the agency is as ‘fiscally’ fit as possible and, through our accountants, the business has undergone a ‘financial health check,” Mr Ryder continued.

“We will continue to access advice and support from Business Link to help us achieve the next stage of our ambitious plans to grow into a sustainable agency with a £2m turnover in the next two years.”
