LED ad’ hoardings light the way for promotions group

A NEW eco-friendly advertising hoarding concept that uses LED bulbs rather than conventional fluorescent lighting is being pioneered by Airport Partners.

The company, which is a division of Harrogate-based outdoor company AdGroup, has just put up the first LED powered hoarding at Bristol International Airport as part of a national roll out.

Andrew Walker, managing director of Airport Partners, said: “By using LED bulbs we are reducing carbon emissions by two thirds and also reducing electricity bill by around 65%.

“Additionally, the bulbs last much longer, give off a more uniform and pleasing glow and when they do eventually go it is much less appararent as there are literally hundreds of other small LED bulbs behind the hoarding providing backlight.”

Airport Partners was formed three years ago and now has advertising and promotions contracts for more than 20 regional airports around the UK including Leeds Bradford.
