‘Astonishing’ sales and export growth for cleaning firm

CLEANING product manufacturer Astonish has bucked the sector trend and announced an increase in sales.

The Leeds-based family-owned firm, which supplies to stores such as Home Bargains and Savers, said that sales grew by 15% for the year ended May 31 to reach £10.8m.

The firm’s managing director Howard Moss said: “The key to growth for Astonish has been sticking to what in essence we have always done – producing the best quality product, at the lowest possible price.

“We are also delighted to be answering increasing customer demand for environmentally focused cleaning products, a key principle we have remained focused on.”

The Astonish range is sold across 50 countries accounting for 35% of its turnover. According to the firm South Korea is currently proving to be a growth market.

Mr Moss said the firm’s next challenge was to hit £12m turnover in the next financial year. In an effort to meet its goal, the firm will be relocating to a brand new 65,000sq ft manufacting site early next year.
