SME In Brief: MadeByPi goes green; Procurement gurus to speak at DN Business Expo; Riverside to unveil new waste concept;

LEEDS-based digital agency MadeByPi has been appointed by CO2Sense Yorkshire to plan and design its new environmental business website as part of a complete rebranding exercise.

CO2Sense Yorkshire, formerly Sustainable Futures Company, is a not-for-profit organisation and wholly owned subsidiary of Yorkshire Forward.

It works with businesses to help reduce their carbon emissions by promoting energy efficiencies and sustainable development.

Rick Hamilton, marketing director for CO2Sense Yorkshire said: “We were impressed by MadeByPi’s interpretation of our digital and communication requirements.We want businesses to go to the site and have instant access to relevant, environmental information.”

A PAIR of procurement gurus are offering Doncaster businesses a step up the ladder to win prospective clients.

Rachael Ellis and Jennifer Beech will deliver their combined expertise of more than 25 years in an informative presentation named ‘Five steps to tendering heaven for public sector contracts as part of Doncaster Chambers DN Business Expo event on September 1 to 3.

Nikki Griffiths, events manager at Doncaster Chamber, said: “To welcome two such experienced professionals who inspire businesses to look beyond their current tendering strategies and see the bigger picture is a real plus for our Expo event.

“We are encouraging businesses to take advantage of the pair’s broad industry know how, which will be a fantastic opportunity to get advice on everything from writing tender documents to negotiations.”

BOROUGHBRIDGE-based Riverside Waste Machinery – the specialist shredding and baling equipment supplier – is to unveil a revolutionary new concept for the processing of refuse derived fuel (RDF) substances at the UK’s biggest recycling and waste management exhibition.

Riverside will partner with the Austrian manufacturer at the Recycling and Waste Management exhibition which takes place at the NEC Birmingham in September.

The firm will unveil the pioneering new TR series of shredders, the first machines of their kind to be offered to the UK’s waste shredding market.

Riverside’s managing director Chris Oldfield said: “While we may be in the midst of an economic downturn these are very interesting times for the waste technology industry.

“EU landfill diversion initiatives are placing unprecedented pressures on central government and in turn the waste management industry which has to find alternative solutions to utilising waste. Those companies who can supply innovative technologies required for effectively processing waste will be in demand.”
