New jobs created as Sheffield adds gourmet burgers to the menu

MORE than 20 new jobs will be created in Sheffield following the decision by gourmet burger specialist the Handmade Burger Co to move into the city.

Its latest restaurant, which is being opened in Meadowhall, will offer diners more than 30 different types of burger and is the first Northern opening for the Midlands-based chain.

Chris Sargeant, co-owner of The Sargeant Partnership – the group behind the Handmade Burger Co, said: “Deciding to expand our business, particularly with the current climate, has been a big step to take.

“But with our three restaurants in the Midlands doing so well we knew the time was right. We pride ourselves on the quality of our food, stylish venues and award winning service and we’re confident that the people in Yorkshire will love the Handmade Burger Co. experience just as much as those in the Midlands.”

Richard Pinfold, head of marketing at Meadowhall, added: “Handmade Burger Co will be a great addition to our already strong food offering.

“We’re proud that the group chose Meadowhall as the location to open its first restaurant outside it’s tried and tested homeland and we’re sure it will prove to be a big hit with all our shoppers.”
